Hello Everybody,
I hope this note finds you well. Today I want to briefly share a bit about a project I’ve started. It’s called 30 in 30. A good friend recently suggested I try writing 30 pieces in 30 days. I’m on day four, and I have to admit… I’m already starting to run out of gas.
Writing has historically been a hobby for me. While at one point, of course, I did write a lot for homework, more recently, I have been writing on Twitter and Substack. But until now, I’ve never approached it with structure, accountability, or goals. It’s just been something I do when the mood strikes.
The reason my friend suggested this challenge is because, over the past few years, my writing has quietly gained traction. Since 2020, my tweets have received more than 400 million impressions. That number still surprises me. When I first started tweeting actively, my goal was not to become a writer - it was to encourage a moderate political movement in San Francisco.
Now, it’s five years later, and a lot has changed. I recently stepped away from the startup I was working with, and I find myself with time, space, and a quiet desire to see what happens if I really commit to this thing I’ve been doing on the side.
So, I’m giving it a shot. 30 pieces in 30 days. I’d love to hear what you think.
Is 30 in 30 too much? Do you have suggestions for topics? Should I lean into other formats, like video- or audio-first? I’m genuinely curious what you think. The comments section is open.
Thank you so much for being here.
Sincerely,
Michelle
